Meet the Team
Emily Valorz, D.C., Clinical Director
Dr. Emily Valorz believes health is one of our most valuable possessions. She grew up in Milton, Massachusetts and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. An athlete all her life, it was nor until she played women’s lacrosse in college that she started receiving chiropractic adjustments in an effort to relieve aches and pains.
Through her experiences there, she realized chiropractic did not just relieve muscle aches and joint pain; it greatly improved both her athletic and academic performance and also prevented new injuries from occurring.
She went on to become the first woman to become inducted into the lacrosse hall of fame in 2011. Attributing her athletic and academic successes in college to chiropractic care, Dr. Valorz maintains that a healthy nervous system does not just affect pain levels but also affects daily functioning.
Dr. Emily graduated from Texas’ Parker College of Chiropractic. She has completed her Pediatric Certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), and is Webster Technique Certified (a technique most often used to balance maternal pelvic misalignments associated with breech positioning). She is currently pursuing certification with the Intersect4Kids program (a program that works to alleviate sensory processing difficulty).
Dr. Valorz is well-versed in Diversified, Activator, Thompson, Pediatric, Perinatal and Cranio-Sacral Therapy and is able to use a variety of techniques to best help even the most difficult of cases.
Dr. Valorz now lives in Amesbury, Ma with her husband, her dog and two step-daughters Addison and Aivah. She is an avid skier, yogi and has recently set her sights on the PanMass Challenge.
Seth Puri, Practice Director
Seth has been helping out at New Beginnings as needed for some time now. He’s somewhat of a “jack of all trades”. Whether tearing down a wall, painting rooms, working the front desk, installing new practice management software, working on billing and vendor inquiries, or just about anything else, Seth is passionate about helping Dr. Valorz and her patients in any way he can.
When Seth isn’t helping out at NBFC he works as an executive for a global technology company. Seth has been in software sales since graduating from college back in 2000.
Seth and Dr. Valorz were married in 2016 and currently reside in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Seth loves starting DIY projects at home (he even finishes a few from time-to-time). In his leisure, Seth enjoys spending time riding waves at New England beaches as well as skiing with his wife up in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. He has 2 beautiful daughters, Aivah and Addison, who keep Seth and Emily plenty busy outside of work.
Addi, Office Greeter and Anxiety Reducer
Addi is an 11 year old puggle from Texas, named after the town she lived in "Addison". She loves chiropractic adjustments, massages, sunbeams, cuddling, snacks and all things soft. On the weekends she can be found going for walks, chasing squirrels, riding in cars with the windows down, chewing sticks and barking at neighborhood dogs as they pass by. She does NOT like baths, swimming, ticks, skateboards or other small dogs.
Addi works full time and she enjoys "helping" Dr. Emily for the majority of the morning. Her afternoons are filled with occasionally greeting patients and intermittent napping in one of her three beds at the office. She enjoys children and adults of all ages and she does not discriminate when it comes to kisses, just be sure to keep your mouth closed.
She prefers to watch her girlish figure, so please no extra snacks. A nice shoulder massage and some baby talk will do nicely.
